Building in fintech can be exciting, but it can also feel deeply isolating. Many of us come in with big ideas and the drive to solve real problems, but very quickly, things start to feel overwhelming.
The learning curve is steep, and the industry evolves quickly, making it tough to find clear, actionable guidance. In Africa, it’s even more challenging to access advice that’s both relevant and practical.
We were tired of waiting for the right space to appear, so we decided to do what builders do when something’s missing. We created Builders In Fintech (BIF).
We started by putting out a simple questionnaire, just to see if anyone else felt the same way. To our surprise, over 50 people responded to the questionnaire we shared, not just with feedback, but with excitement, honesty, and a shared hunger for a space like this.
What Exactly is BIF?
At its core, BIF is a response to a pressing need in the industry i.e the need for a collaborative, inclusive space where builders can share ideas, learn from each other, and build innovative solutions together.
Builders in Fintech is not just a resource hub, or a community, it’s a movement.
BIF is for product thinkers, operators, founders, designers, developers, and curious minds who are building, or want to build in fintech, particularly within African markets.
We’re building a space to;
